Ingredients for Chilli Crab Recipe:
Below are what you need to make the best chilli crab in Singapore.
- Sri Lankan Mud Crab - 450g
- Lime juice - 1 tbsp
- Egg - 1 (or 2 if you like eggs)
- Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp
- Garlic - 8 cloves, chopped
- Red Chilli - 8 pieces, chopped
- Spring onion - 2 stalks, cut to 5cm pieces
- Cilantro - 1 sprig (for garnishing)
Ingredients for the sauce:
- Water - 1 cup
- Tomato ketchup - 5 tbsp
- Sugar - 1 tbsp
- Corn flour - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
Instructions for chilli crab recipe
- Heat vegetable oil over high heat
- Add chopped garlic and stir-fry for about 1 to 2 minutes or until golden brown
- Add chilli and stir fry for another 30 seconds or so
- Add in the mud crabs, cover and simmer until crabs are red
- Add in egg(s) and mix well
- Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture
- Add in scallions, mix everything a little and serve
